Bringing Horizon Zero Dawn to life with Playstation: Greenscreen cinemagraphs
This January Manifest and O supported Playstation on the preview media event of Horizon Zero Dawn, one the year’s most hotly-anticipated AAA titles. Developed by Amsterdam studio Guerilla Games, this third-person open world game is set in a post-post apocalyptic world, where machines have taken over but the earth has begun to regenerate. The game’s protagonist, Aloy, is a strong, independent hunter battling with the machines, whilst also trying to uncover her own mysterious past.
Throughout the event, the brief was to immerse the 100+ media and influencers attending in the game, so O decided to literally put the guests into the game by creating personalised greenscreen cinemagraphs.
As part of the evening party hosted at an old Sugar Factory, we created a greenscreen set, complete with wind machine, props and amazing costumes inspired by the game and created for us by a Game of Thrones costume designer. Legit.
With cos players on hand to advise how to pose with bow and arrows and spears, the guests were able to unleash their inner warrior. The cocktails helped too…
Back in London, our VFX team was able to animate specific elements of an iconic image from the game Guerilla had shared with us, and superimpose the images of the guests into it to create a dynamic looping gif.
The personalised content was shared by influencers and media across the world, resulting in over 10k engagements with the content.
